The Atlantic Canadian Species at Risk Conference “Linking Science and Communities in Recovery” was a great success!

This conference, hosted by BCAF, was held October 23-24, 2006, at the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenburg, NS. 100 participants attended the conference representing community groups, First Nations, government, academia, scientists, environmental managers, industry, and other individuals interested in the recovery of species at risk.

The conference consisted of formal presentations, plenary sessions, a panel discussion, and Key Note Address by Dr. Jeff Hutchings, Chair of the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC).

The conference achieved its goal of enhancing learning and knowledge sharing with regards to Species at Risk in Atlantic Canada. Here are some comments from conference participants:
