Nova action

A youth-led initiative

Nova Action is an exciting youth-led initiative, that is supporting a cohort 10 youth across Nova Scotia to take action on environmental issues in their own communities. The youth leaders pursue an environmental issue of their choosing, and over the course of the project, will research the issue and share the results with their community, province, and beyond. The youth will meet with each other and project mentors throughout the duration of the project to get support, ideas, and gain new skills.

In 2019, Coastal Action recruited 10 youth (ages 14-16) from across Nova Scotia to be members of the Nova Action Cohort. Throughout 2020, these cohort members have been conducting individual research projects on environmental issues that are affecting their respective communities. In 2021, the cohort members have begun to conclude their research projects and start to share their results. Check out our Meet the Cohort page to learn more about the cohort members and their projects as well as find links to their individual project social media pages. Stay tuned here and on social media for more project details.
