Welcome to COASTAL ACTION

our response to covid-19 in Nova scotia

Coastal Action is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation here in Nova Scotia, paying close attention to the daily updates provided by our federal and provincial governments and adapting our operations to ensure the continued adherence to all guidelines and restrictions. Our highest priority is the safety and well-being of our employees. Our office is closed until further notice and all staff are working from home. Everyone at our organization can still be reached through email.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Coastal Action acknowledges that we live and work on Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) People first signed with the British Crown in 1725.

WHO WE ARE

Coastal Action, established in December 1993, is a charitable organization that addresses environmental concerns within the South Shore region of Nova Scotia. Our goal is to promote the restoration, enhancement, and conservation of our environment through research, education, and action. Coastal Action is currently tackling many environmental issues that fall under the following theme areas;  species at risk and biodiversity, watersheds and water quality, climate change and education, as well as coastal and marine. The organization receives direction from a volunteer Board of Directors supported through a full-time Executive Director.

Thank you

As a charitable non-profit organization, Coastal Action depends on government and non-government funding in order to conduct our research, education, and action projects. Coastal Action would like to acknowledge and thank all our partners, supporters, and funders past and present. Every little bit helps us in reaching our goals, and without the support of our partners and funders we wouldn't be the success we are today!
