We locate, design, and install small-scale green infrastructure [Low Impact Developments (LIDs)] like bioswales and rain gardens. Coastal Action also provides communities with the tools to manage runoff more effectively by hosting rain barrel workshops, installing green infrastructure projects with the help of community groups, and using completed green infrastructure projects as demonstration sites.

Benefits of stormwater management projects:
  • Decrease localized flooding.
  • Decrease the contaminants and sediment entering local waterways, which harm aquatic habitat and degrade water quality.
  • Increase stormwater runoff infiltration and filtration.
